The following poem has been written by Sydney Smith and is dedicated to his wife Bunny who died recently.

Syd says this poem is for all those people who have lost a loved one, for whatever reason and find themselves saying "I" instead of "we" for the first time.

"I" is Not as Good as "We"

"I" is not as good as "we"

at least that's what we find,

for saying we did this or that

brings pleasure to our minds .

When going out together

it's such a joyous thing, holding hands or linking arms

walking with a lover's spring.

And visiting the theatre

or some other socialising

together is a comfortable

feeling that's suprising.

We'll be there at eight o'clock

or, we'll be seeing you,

seems to fill us full of pride

and put our love on view.

So, if we're ever parted

with no one else to share,

a feeling or experience

I'm sure it won't be fair

For, "I" said that or, "I" did this

and I'll be there at three,

really isn't half as good as saying that word "we".
