A WEEKEND IN BLACKPOOL
On the weekend of 17th to 19th April ,21 of our group enjoyed a great weekend in Blackpool.
Our thanks to Alan Smith for making all the arrangements for our stay at the Lyndene Hotel right on the prom where we could sit in the wonderful sunshine (truly) and watch the world go by.
Although the rooms were a little on the "cosy" side the place was spotlessly clean,we had really good entertainment and the food was good and well served. The bar prices were quite reasonable too.
On the Saturday some of us set off to Fleetwood to hit the market and the shops at Freeport with a ride on a tram on the way.(well, you've got to go on a tram in Blackpool haven't you)
Saturday evening was spent with "The Cheatles" a really good Beatles tribute band and it gave Ken and Mavis a chance to show off their jiving skills.
All in all a really good chill out weekend with the chance to have a good natter with no worries about the rest of the world.
Breakfast (decisions, decisions) More decisions on the market This really is Fleetwood not Marbella
The Cheatles Enjoying the music and the company
A good breakfast set them up for a hard day at the shops
